Biography

I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from Loyola University in New Orleans. In 2004, I taught English at a bilingual kindergarten school in Bangkok, Thailand.  My amazing experience teaching English abroad awakened my passion for teaching.  Shortly after returning home, I started a Masterís Degree program in Education at the University of New Orleans.  In September 2005, I relocated to New York (Brooklyn) after Hurricane Katrina devastated my hometown.  After settling into the big city, I managed a restaurant while completing a Masterís Degree in education at Hunter College. I completed my Masterís Degree in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) in May 2009, and worked with a first grade class at PS 166 in Manhattan in 2010.  This is my third year teaching second grade at the UFT Charter School Elementary Academy.  I am currently working on my second Masterís Degree in Instructional Technology at Touro College.
